Consultation Notice

Tyndale Primary School (South Gloucestershire)

Proposed Resource Base

The Greenshaw Learning Trust is consulting on the proposal to establish a dedicated resource base for pupils with a primary need of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and/or Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The base will be hosted at Tyndale Primary School.

The consultation will be held between Wednesday 4th March and Wednesday 1st April 2026.

Provision Overview

The resource base aims to address the rising demand for specialised SEMH and SLCN support within South Gloucestershire. It is designed for children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who require a more intensive, structured intervention than a standard mainstream setting can typically provide.

Pupils will benefit from specialist support within the Resource Base while maintaining meaningful access to the mainstream school provision and peer groups where appropriate.

To facilitate the new provision, an internal refurbishment and single-storey extension will be required north of the existing Key Stage 2 building.

Admissions Process

Pending approval, this provision is scheduled to open in September 2027.

The resource base will admit a total number of 10 children in Key Stage 1/Key Stage 2.

Applications for the resource base will be managed by the South Gloucestershire Council SEN Team and are handled independently of the standard school admissions process.

Applicants must have a finalised EHCP designating SEMH and/or Speech Language and Communication Needs as their primary need.
