Trustees & Governors

Strong governance is key to the success of our schools, to provide strategic leadership, oversight of financial and academic performance and to challenge and support the senior leaders.

Each school in the Trust is overseen by a governing body, which monitors the school’s performance and challenges and supports the school’s headteacher and senior leadership team. The governing body is a committee of the Board of Trustees, which is the governing board of the Trust as a whole.

As a school governor in the Greenshaw Learning Trust you can make a real impact on a school’s success, supporting children and young people in your local community; applying your knowledge and skills to ensure the school does the best for all its pupils; and learning more about aspects of education you find interesting and  gaining  experience that can positively impact on other parts of your life. No particular qualifications are required and support and training is provided.

If you are over 18 years of age, and are willing and able to give time and energy to the role, you could be just the person we are looking for.

If you are interested in becoming a governor at one of our schools, please see our governor recruitment pack. The Code of Conduct, referred to in the recruitment pack, sets out the standards of behaviour required of governors. All governors are required to abide by the declaration of interests policy and to declare any relevant interests that may affect their role.

If you wish to be considered for a position as a governor at any Trust school, please complete the application form and equalities monitoring form below.
