Launch of Consultation and new Headteacher for Gloucester Academy

The White Horse Federation and the Greenshaw Learning Trust will now consult with staff, parents, and the school’s wider community.

The transfer of Gloucester Academy from the White Horse Federation to the Greenshaw Learning Trust was considered by the South West Headteacher Board on 10 February 2020 and subsequently the Regional Schools Commissioner has approved the transfer.

The White Horse Federation and the Greenshaw Learning Trust will now consult with staff, parents, and the school’s wider community on the proposal for Gloucester Academy to join the Greenshaw Learning Trust. Consultation meetings will be held at the school for staff, parents and carers on Wednesday 26 February 2020. The meetings will give people the opportunity to find out more about the Greenshaw Learning Trust and ask questions. If people are unable to attend a consultation meeting, feedback and queries on the proposals can be sent via an email to consultation@greenshawlearningtrust.co.uk. The consultation will close on Tuesday 31 March 2020. Further information can be found here

Following the announcement to staff and parents that Mr Holroyd, the current Principal of Gloucester Academy, will be stepping down, the Greenshaw Learning Trust will provide senior leadership support. As of 24 February 2020, Jonathan Heap will be taking up the post of Headteacher at Gloucester Academy. Mr Heap has significant experience of leading and improving secondary schools.
