On 16 December 2019 Mike Cooper will stand down as a Trustee and as Chair of the Greenshaw Learning Trust. The Board of Trustees has appointed Roger Mills to take the position of Chair from that date.

Mike Cooper said: “I have decided that at this point in the development of the Greenshaw Learning Trust it is the right time for me and for the Trust that I should stand down from the Board of Trustees. I am very proud of all that has been achieved by bringing together our family of schools and I know that the Trust is in good shape to go from strength to strength. I will continue to take a close interest in the success of the Trust and I look forward to finding new ways that I can support its development in the future.”

Will Smith, Chief Executive Officer of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, said: “Mike has been the driving force behind the development of the Greenshaw Learning Trust since its establishment. The entire Trust has benefitted from his knowledge, skills and expertise, in particular around governance but also more widely, across the whole organisation. Mike has also been a mentor, guide and coach for me personally over the last 12 years for which I am enormously grateful. I join with all connected with the Trust in thanking Mike for his dedication, wisdom and determination.”

Roger Mills has been a Trustee of the Greenshaw Learning Trust for the last three years. As well as having served many years as a school governor, he is skilled and experienced in company strategic development, scrutiny of performance and in media and digital communications.
