DfE proposes Lakers School should join the Greenshaw Learning Trust
The Trust is the preferred sponsor for Lakers School.
The Regional Schools Commissioner for the South West has announced that the Greenshaw Learning Trust is the preferred sponsor for Lakers School in Coleford, Gloucestershire.
The Department for Education’s (DfE’s) Regional Schools Commissioner and Head Teacher Board have given in-principle approval to the proposal that Lakers School becomes an academy and joins the Greenshaw Learning Trust.
Lakers School needs the support of an established academy trust to ensure it continues to improve.
The Greenshaw Learning Trust has the experience and capacity to provide the support Lakers needs and as part of the Greenshaw family of schools Lakers will benefit from close collaboration with other like-minded schools.
The Trust is already working with Yate Academy in South Gloucestershire.
If the Greenshaw Learning Trust’s due diligence checks and negotiations with the DfE are successful, it is expected that Lakers School will join the Trust on 1 September 2017.
In the meantime, the Greenshaw Learning Trust will be working with the leadership and Interim Executive Board at Lakers School and providing support to the school to ensure that it continues to move forward.
