Sarah Jones

Sarah joined us in 2017 with the creation of Five Acres High School and has progressed from Head of RE to Assistant Headteacher for Teaching and Learning.

Having begun my training at Lakers School and living within the school’s catchment area, my journey in education has always been closely tied to the local community. I was a member of staff at Lakers School in the Forest of Dean when it joined the Greenshaw Learning Trust and became Five Acres High School, where I was Head of RE.

Since joining the Trust, I have been given a wide range of opportunities that have shaped my progression into senior leadership, including working as a Lead Practitioner, being seconded to support an RE department within the Trust, and supporting SLT during the Covid period with the transition to remote learning. These experiences, alongside continuous opportunities to collaborate with and support schools across the Trust, led to my appointment as Assistant Headteacher for Wider Engagement and subsequently to SLT, where I now hold the role of Assistant Headteacher for Teaching and Learning at Five Acres High School.

I find working within Greenshaw Learning Trust incredibly rewarding; the culture of collaboration, professional challenge and trust has encouraged me to keep learning and pushing myself forward. Being part of the journey of both Greenshaw and Five Acres within the local community, raising aspirations for students and families and breaking down barriers has been a privilege, and nothing makes me prouder than seeing the Five Acres uniform worn confidently in the community.
