Chris Brown

My name is Chris Brown. I work at Hunts Grove Primary Academy as an Assistant Head of School here and I run the Greenshaw Learning Trust Primary Reading Network. 

Our school joined as our group of five schools, a locality-based academy trust when we joined Greenshaw. We already had a shared curriculum where I was already a leader of that smaller trust. When we joined Greenshaw we worked collaboratively with new senior colleagues and from there I was asked to take on the role for a couple of years. I really enjoyed getting out into other schools and seeing things, sharing expertise and working collaboratively in the best possible way. 
It's been really positive joining Greenshaw Learning Trust from a smaller Trust. We still feel that we have the same levels of autonomy that we had before and still have the same local collaborative working so those things are all working really really well and have stayed working really really well. 
Greenshaw have added another layer of capacity in terms of school improvement and amazing things going on nationally that are all brought together which we feel has driven our standards much further since joining Greenshaw. It has been a much quicker journey than it would have been if we had stayed at just 5 small schools. 
I enjoy the variety of my role. I still get to teach two days a week in the classroom and then have three days of management time. Within that time I can be posted to different schools, so the opportunities I am provided are fantastic. 
It's a really forward thinking, researched led, evidenced based Trust. Everything about it is perfect. I couldn't recommend it higher
