Will Smith, CEO of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, appointed OBE in New Year Honours
The Board of Trustees of the Greenshaw Learning Trust (GLT) is delighted to announce that its founding Chief Executive Officer, Will Smith, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year Honours, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to education.
Throughout his career, including roles as a Headteacher, Vice-Chair of PiXL, and CEO of GLT, Will has remained steadfast in his commitment to improving educational outcomes and life chances for young people. Under his leadership, the Greenshaw Learning Trust has grown into a highly successful and respected multi-academy trust, responsible for 37 schools across the South of England. GLT has supported and improved outcomes for thousands of pupils, while also collaborating with other schools and trusts across the UK to share expertise, strengthen leadership, and raise standards.
Commenting on the appointment, Will said:
"I am deeply humbled and proud to receive this honour. It is truly a testament to the dedication of colleagues I have had the privilege to work with and be influenced by throughout my career. Education is a collective effort, and this recognition belongs to the Greenshaw Learning Trust community, including all of its staff and schools."
