Baroness Diana Barran Appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees has appointed Baroness Diana Barran as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Greenshaw Learning Trust, effective 1 September 2026.

Baroness Barran brings a wealth of expertise and leadership across education, governance, and the voluntary sector. Having served as Minister for the School System and Student Finance, as well as holding key roles across government and charitable initiatives, Diana brings deep insight into national educational policy, school improvement, and community support. Her commitment to educational excellence and improving outcomes for young people aligns perfectly with the Trust's core values.

Following a short period as interim Chair, Karen Roche will continue in her role as Vice Chair of the Board. Karen's continued leadership as ensures strong continuity across our governance network. Karen’s ongoing guidance and rich experience within education and the Greenshaw family of schools will continue to be invaluable. Both Diana and Karen look forward to engaging with our schools and local communities in the coming months.
