GLT Schools Mark Another Year of Strong GCSE Success
Greenshaw Learning Trust (GLT) is celebrating an excellent set of GCSE outcomes, with Attainment 8 scores rising across our schools once again.
The average Attainment 8 score across GLT, together with the percentage of students achieving grades 4+ and 5+ in English and maths, remains strong and well above national averages. We are particularly proud that Attainment 8 for disadvantaged students is also well above the national average, reflecting our unwavering commitment to ensuring every young person, whatever their background, has the opportunity to thrive.
A Trust-Wide Picture of Success
Across our family of schools, today's results tell a story of consistent improvement, resilience and ambition. Many of our schools have recorded their best-ever GCSE outcomes, with strong performances in core subjects such as English, maths and science, alongside impressive results in languages, the arts, humanities and vocational subjects. Numerous students across the Trust achieved outstanding sets of top grades, some securing multiple grade 9s, and many are progressing on to sixth form, college, apprenticeships and employment with a wide range of options open to them.
Particularly encouraging has been the progress made in a number of schools that have recently joined the Trust, where collaboration and shared expertise have helped drive significant improvement. Across the Trust, the gap between disadvantaged students and their peers continues to narrow, a reflection of the targeted support and high expectations that underpin our approach in every school.
These achievements are the result of years of hard work and dedication from our students, unwavering commitment from our teaching and support staff, and the encouragement of families and communities who have backed young people every step of the way.
Izzy Ambrose, Director of Secondary Education at GLT, said:
We are incredibly proud of our students and the hard work that sits behind these results. These outcomes reflect the dedication of our young people, the commitment of our staff and the support of families and communities. It is fantastic to see so many of our schools building on their success year after year, and to see newer members of the Trust making such rapid progress. Every student should be proud of what they have achieved, and we wish them every success as they take their next steps.
A huge thank you to our school staff, families and everyone who supports our young people. Well done to all our students - we are excited to see what the future holds for you.
