Kathryn Ralley

I am incredibly fortunate to have been on a journey during my time in Greenshaw Learning Trust that has ultimately led me to Headship.  I joined the Trust in 2023, as an Assistant Head at Waterwells Primary Academy, when our group of schools merged with GLT. 

Joining a much larger trust opened up more opportunities for me and, by 2024, I had become part of the Primary School Improvement Team for maths.  This role enabled me to share my expertise as a Primary Mastery Maths Specialist and utilise my knowledge as a School Development Lead to build a collaborative approach to maths across our many schools. It has been rewarding to work with such fantastic leaders in other schools and ultimately see the impact this has had for our children. 

In January 2026, I became the Interim Head of Crown Wood Primary School, one of our largest primary schools within the trust and successfully Substantive Head in April.  My journey to Headship has been focused on my own personal drive of always learning; always seeking the next piece of knowledge to improve the outcomes for all our children and develop our leaders in school. 

Collaboration is at the heart of who we are at GLT - something I am keen to promote at Crown Wood Primary.
