Fernhill School groundbreaking

On Friday 27 February, partners gathered to mark the official groundbreaking ceremony for Fernhill School – a major milestone in the building of the school.

Representatives from the Department for Education, the London Borough of Sutton, the Greenshaw Learning Trust, the construction partner Reds10, alongside Luke Taylor, MP for Sutton and Cheam came together to celebrate the start of works.

Construction is now underway using advanced volumetric modular methods, with most of the 2,900 sq. m building being manufactured off-site to ensure quality and efficiency.

Designed for young people with autism, Fernhill School will include 12 classrooms, specialist therapy and sensory spaces, dedicated teaching rooms, accessible facilities and high-quality outdoor learning and sports areas.

We are proud to be opening Fernhill School and look forward to providing a carefully designed environment, expert teaching, and strong partnerships with families to ensure every pupil can thrive.
