Luke joined us in 2022 as a Deputy Headteacher and has recently developed into our Headteacher at Tyndale Primary School.
My journey within Greenshaw Learning Trust began when I joined as Deputy Headteacher, and from the outset I was struck by the collaborative and values-driven nature of the organisation. There is a genuine sense that we are stronger together — schools supporting one another, sharing expertise openly, and working collectively to improve outcomes for all pupils. Since becoming Headteacher at Tyndale, that feeling has only deepened.
One of the key reasons I value being part of GLT is the approachability of colleagues across the Trust; I truly feel I can pick up the phone to anyone — whether for advice, challenge, or reassurance — and receive thoughtful, practical support. At the same time, I have real autonomy to lead the school in the way I believe is right for our community. The Trust provides clarity, ambition and high expectations, but it is not prescriptive in a way that removes professional judgement — which is something I know can be the case elsewhere. That balance of freedom within a strong framework, alongside the opportunity both to support other schools and to receive support whenever I reach out, has enabled me to grow as a leader while ensuring our school continues to thrive within a collaborative, ambitious network.
