Su Jenkins

Hi, I'm Su and I'm Headteacher's PA/Office Manager and S&I Liaison at Five Acres High School. I joined the school in October 2018 as Office Manager and spent around a year in that role before moving on to become Headteacher's PA. I joined the school not having a background in education, having spent 15 years working in magazine publishing. Kate (Rimell) and Martin (Evans) took a chance on me to recruit me for that Office Manager role and since then I have been encouraged and supported on my career journey to where I am now. 

The number of great colleagues working in the trust is amazing, and the support I receive from the school's SLT, GLT's senior leaders and shared services is really appreciated. Janice and the S&I team are fantastic to work with and the networks that have been created for Headteacher's PAs and S&I Liaisons are excellent first ports of call to ask questions and seek advice. I usually say that in these work spaces, there is no such thing as a stupid question as it's usually me asking them! 

No two days are the same in school; from managing the Headteacher's diary, prepping for Governors meetings, supporting my team to be successful in their roles, interacting with students when I'm covering a duty or providing first aid support for example, the time in school flies by. I also have the opportunity to keep up my publishing skills by putting together the monthly school newsletter, which is a lovely way for us to celebrate our students' successes, and sharing news on our social media platforms.
