Jade Thompson

Jade joined us 10 years ago in the Inclusion team and has since developed into our Specialist Head of Year.
When I first joined Greenshaw High School, I began my career as a key worker within the Inclusion Team. Over the past ten years, my role has evolved, progressing from Deputy Head of Year to Head of Year, and now to Specialist Head of Year. Throughout this journey, I have been given valuable opportunities to develop my skills, expand my knowledge, and progress professionally.
I have also grown personally, having had the privilege of learning from and being supported by highly experienced members of the senior leadership team. The school also plays a key role in supporting my future leadership ambitions, and I am currently working towards the NPQSL qualification to strengthen my professional growth in this area. In my current role as Specialist Head of Year, I am able to ensure that students receive the support they need to thrive at Greenshaw High School, working collaboratively through a multi-agency approach that consistently places the needs of the pupil at the centre of all decisions.
It is a privilege to witness students develop and grow into individuals who we are proud to see leave Greenshaw and contribute positively to the wider community. I feel fortunate to genuinely enjoy my role, which I believe is a reflection of the school itself. Greenshaw High School not only values and supports its staff but also places student wellbeing and success at the heart of everything that it does. The school fosters a strong sense of belonging among staff, students, and families. It is a privilege to work at Greenshaw High School and I would recommend this school not only as a place to work, but also as a school for students to attend.
