George Bligh

George joined us in 2012 as a Media Studies Technician and has developed into a Digital Platforms Manager.

As the Digital Platforms Manager, I look after the digital tools that make our school run, from our learning platforms to specialised educational services. My work is the 'bridge' between the IT team and the classroom, ensuring our tech actually serves our teachers and students. I started here three days a week as a Media Technician, but as the school’s digital needs grew, my role expanded into the position I hold today.

While I joined the school on a part-time basis, I quickly built a strong rapport with the Senior Leadership Team. By presenting proactive ideas for our digital infrastructure, I earned the opportunity to scale my impact. The SLT’s support allowed me to evolve my role from technical support to a more strategic position within the school.

Working at Greenshaw High School is a unique experience. What sets us apart is the culture: a supportive staff community and a leadership team that truly values specialist roles. I work closely with the SLT, and the level of mutual respect and active listening is not something you would find in all schools. I would recommend anyone to work here.

The highlight of my day is working alongside such a creative group of colleagues. I love it when staff approach me with a 'what if' idea; my goal is always to find a way to make it happen, solving their technical hurdles so they can focus on what they do best.
