Jonathan Heap appointed as Interim Headteacher for Oakbank School

Jonathan Heap will take up his post as Interim Headteacher of Oakbank School on 01 September 2025.
Danielle Finlay, current Headteacher, will be leaving Oakbank School at the end of this term after supporting the transition of Oakbank into the Greenshaw Learning Trust, which is expected to be completed on 1st September 2025. We wish her all the best for the future.
We are pleased to announce that Jonathan Heap will assume the role of Interim Headteacher from 1st September 2025. Jonathan brings over 20 years of exceptional school leadership experience, having led four secondary schools in similar contexts, most recently JMA in Reading. We are confident that under Jonathan's leadership, Oakbank will see rapid and sustained improvement.
Jonathan says: "Oakbank is a school with huge potential, and I feel privileged to be joining the community at this important time. We know there is work to do, but we are ready for the challenge and determined to make a real difference. Our focus will be on creating a calm, safe, and supportive environment where every student can thrive. We want families to feel welcome and involved in school life, and to know that we are here to listen. Together, we will build a school that everyone can be proud of."
The recruitment process for a permanent Headteacher will commence in the new academic year.
