Henley Bank wins award for supporting young people with SEND

Henley Bank High School, Brockworth, Gloucestershire, has won Best Secondary Provision at nasen’s (National Association for Special Education Needs) annual awards. The national awards recognise schools that support children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) to reach their full potential.

Henley Bank High School was recognised for the supportive relationships it has formed between staff, SEND students and their families, and for striving to involve 100% of parents/carers in the education journey.

Henley Bank High School joins 12 other award winners who were judged by a panel of leading professionals, who have a wealth of experience in education and SEND, and individuals with lived experience.

Stephen Derry, Headteacher at Henley Bank High School, said: “Since the school joined the Greenshaw Learning Trust three years ago, the school has made huge progress and children are thriving in an environment of support and challenge. Locally, the school has become renowned for providing excellent provision for young people with SEND and it is amazing for our school to be recognised nationally for our provision.”
