Delay in Broadwater School joining Greenshaw Learning Trust

Broadwater School was due to become an academy and join the Trust on 1 June 2020.

Broadwater School in Godalming was due to become an academy and join the Greenshaw Learning Trust on 1 June 2020.

The necessary consultation and agreement between the Department for Education, the Broadwater Local Governing Body and the Greenshaw Learning Trust Board of Trustees had been concluded. However, the restrictions and additional pressures everyone is under during the COVID-19 pandemic mean that it will not be possible to carry out all the necessary work to enable Broadwater to formally join the Trust within the original timetable. It is now anticipated that Broadwater School will become an academy and join the Greenshaw Learning Trust on 1 September 2020 at the earliest.

Roger Mills, Chair of Board of Trustees, said: “The Greenshaw Learning Trust and Broadwater School are committed to our future together and are working closely to ensure that this exciting step in the school’s journey goes smoothly.”
